Before writing the review, I want to make it clear that I am not a Tamilian. But this movie created a huge impact on Telugu audience too. A huge round of applause to the whole team!!
This movie stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Directed by A.R.Murugadoss.
The plot mainly revolves around the problems of farmers in the rural areas and water scarcity. The story revolves around how the protagonist struggled to solve the problems of his locality with his skills and meanwhile what are the problems he faced in dealing with them.
The subject seems to be a common burning issue but the way the director developed the story is outstanding. The Screenplay is fantastic.
Performances:
Vijay: Vijay played dual role in this movie. Both the roles are completely different from each other. He did a great job. Especially the way he carried the 'Jeevanandam' character with great emotion. A standing ovation to his performance. (Before watching this movie I have seen few films of Vijay. But after this movie I became his fan).
Neil Nitin Mukesh: He played the negative lead. Thanks to ARM for choosing him as the villain. The way he looked and performed was good. He looked very apt for that character as a Stlyish villain.
Samantha: She played the love interest of the protagonist. She did a fabulous job. Even though she didn't have a great screen time. She justified her role.
Technical Aspects:
Music: Anirudh gave a good album. Especially 'Selfie Pulla' & 'Aathi' songs are too good. Coming to the Background music, this is the best work of Anirudh till date. The Sword theme & Villain entrance bgm are terrific. A huge round of applause to him!!
Editing, Cinematography are excellent. Production values are excellent. The action sequences are amazing. Especially the 'Coin fight' deserves a special mention.
Overall the great team work made it possible!!
